We had our first Centering Group meeting yesterday. There are about 9 other couples in the group and everyone seems very nice and excited about working together. One couple has the exact same due date as us and they live about a mile away! We were told that we will come to know all the other people very well, and most of the groups stay in close touch after the program is done. Their first group of moms, whose babies are now 18 months, have been getting together once a week ever since their babies were born. We did a get-to-know-you exercise, and then the midwife leading it went over how the program will work, and then we discussed different things like nutrition, vitamins, exercise, weight gain, etc. We each met individually with the midwife then who said everything looks on track, the heartbeat sounded good, and we will be having our 20-week anatomy check ultrasound in a couple weeks!
I will try to post a belly pic soon... I know some of you are vying for one (even though at this point I think it just looks more like me getting fat than there actually being a baby in there). :)
